Re: AK DREAM TEAM
I have been in AK for about 2 and a half years now and the best wrestling performance I've ever seen was that of Weist 2 years ago in the state finals when he teched his opponent 30-15 basically off takedowns. That was awesome.
A few other great wrestlers that I havent seen mentioned are Ed Bailey and Stan Brown. They were both good wrestlers and should really be considered. I'm not sure though because I havent been in AK too long.

Re: AK DREAM TEAM
Another wrestler I forgot to mention is Lance Penhale of Nikiski. He was a multi time state champ. He was also one of the top twenty seniors last year according to USA Wrestling Magazine. (At 103)

Re: AK DREAM TEAM
To give 1/2/3A its due, what was the greatest single-season team in Ak small-school history?
For purposes of conversation generation i'll put forward the Homer '86 team with the caveat that i did not see the great Nikiski or Eileson teams that came after. Homer had 4 State Champs (despite that lack of recognition of this fact in the records that i've seen on the web, Homer had 4 and set the small school record Nikiski tied later, i've seen web documentation that Nikiski set the record of 4 small-school champs and this is not true), 2 runners-up, a 3rd and a 4th. One of Homer's champions was the '86 small-school tourney's most Outstanding Wrestler as well, that being Ian Pitzman who pinned all opponents at that tournament in the first round. Homer went to 4A the next season and lost 3 of its 4 champions to graduation or moving (and still did pretty well with a state champ <John Neland>, and 1 <Dave Steward> or 2 runners-up <i can't remember if defending 1/2/3A state champ Lance Bailey took second or third at 4A in '87>).

Re: AK DREAM TEAM
There is a lot of good analysis in this thread. But there is only one thing than needs to be said. Questus.
